Tattoo Manufacturing Receives G7 Master Print Designation from IDEAlliance

TM International (TMI) has been awarded the sought-after G7 Master Print Designation from IDEAlliance, a nonprofit association that identifies best practices for efficient, end-to-end digital media workflows.  The designation means that by international standards, Tattoo Manufacturing is one of a few hundred printers worldwide able to verify color quality through the entire print process, from digital image to the final printed press sheet.

The qualification includes a complete examination of the company’s printing process, including press, plating and proofing, and is applicable to offset, gravure, silkscreen, Flexo, dye sublimation and digital print processes.

The G7 Designation is especially important when a customer wants to ensure that all of its print materials — whether it’s collateral materials, packaging or signage — have the same print characteristics, explained former CEO of TMI, Steve Tooker. “Printers that are G7 qualified can ensure customers that each batch of products will have the same color balance and look virtually identical to the human eye.  For example, when we are printing products for Target, they know that our red will exactly match the red in all of their materials.”

G7 Designation was created as the result of print buyers’ frustration by visible color differences across print products.  For example, without specific, consistent calibrations, a logo may appear totally different on a brochure than it does on packaging or labeling.  G7 specification ensures that the proof-to-print process is calibrated across printing devices and media to ensure that colors look the same to the naked eye.

G7 is not a certification, it is a qualification.  It demonstrates that the provider is qualified to provide G7-level service.
